Welcome to ODISHA DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME

 

Odisha Development Management Programme (ODMP) is a registered network of grass root NGOs, environmentalist and academicians, which get birth out of the emotion of civic movement during and after the post super-cyclone in 1999 at Odisha State.

      In the year 2001 the ODMP rooted its steps onwards from Puri District. 51 NGOs from 11 Blocks joined with ODMP as the partners of the UNICEF  and RD department , govt. of odisha supported Water and Sanitation Programme of Puri District. ODMP successfully implemented the programme from the financial year 2001 -02 to 2003-04 as the District Nodal Agency  and received State & National level appreciations.

     In 2005 ODMP expanded its involvement in development and environmental context in other Districts of Odisha. Now it is working with 10 NGOs partnership in 13 Districts of the Odisha State. Partnership with XIM-BBSR, Centurion University,BBSR, OSDMA, District Water Sanitation Mission Puri & Khurda are the humble support for ODMP. 

      Nirmal Srikhetra Aviyan is an environmental drive of Puri City in regards solid and hospital  waste management supported by UNDP-SGP-GEF & GIZ  and RKS , District Headquarter Hospital , Puri implemented with ODMP leadership.

 Swachh Bharat Mission(G) is also carried out as the prima face of ODMP Vision’s target and built up alliances of hygienic awareness campaign by mobilizing the rural villages for construction of Individual Household Latrine

  We have been connecting our desire of the eco-conservation for the bestowment of our future generation avoiding the eve teasing to the trees and forests and emergence of the forest lands to balance our water cycle. The plants & nurseries were brought from the Horticulture Department and it were implanted at the community land of the satyabadi block and some nurseries were given to the farmers to foster at the divider of the cultivable lands. The committee for the forestation was developed and under its supervision the forestation programme was undertaken by eucalyptus, neem, aswattha, acaccia and other species like mangoes,pepal and chakunda etc. Apart from safeguarding the current forest wealth we are also trying to regenerate new forest growth by undertaking plantation.

  Widening livelihood options in both farm and non-farm sectors is one of the key strategies of ODMP

Agriculture being one of the primary sources of livelihoods of the people of our operational area., effort is being taken by the organization to improve the agricultural practices resulting in increase in productivity of crops and thereby ensuring year-round food security and enhanced income. Several land use activities were organized during the year and around 120 acres of land being developed for integrated vegetable cultivation projects.
